Ms. Gilly received a Master of Music, Summa Cum Laude in Flute Performance and Orchestral Studies in 2000 from Roosevelt University where her major teachers were Jean Berkenstock of the Lyric Opera/Grant Park Symphony, and Richard Graef, Associate Principal Flute of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Her performance credits include: Associate Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago in 1999-2000, and her current position as 2nd flute/piccolo player with the Kenosha Symphony she’s held since 1997. Ms. Gilly has also played saxophone in the local Salsa/Merengue scene playing with such bands as Sylvio Sosa, Merenguito and the Ritmo Award winning Carpacho y Su Super Combo. She also plays tenor sax with the Noteworthy Big Band, comprised entirely of Chicago Public School Band Directors, which had an opening slot in the 2010 Chicago Jazz Festival. Lastly, Ms. Gilly performs several times a year with Sones de Mexico, a Latin Grammy award winning Mexican Folkloric group.
